Iceni is a modular system whereby a number of modules, such as the web proxy / filter or mail server, can be combined to provide an integrated solution to suit your requirements. This section of the user guide provides an overview of the core functionality. For more specific information relating to the various modules, please use the index on the right. Note that not all of the modules may be available on your Iceni server - if you are interested in purchasing additional capabilities, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the options with you.
User Interface Overview
After you log into your Iceni server, you will initially see the Dashboard. This page allows you to see a brief overview of the system's current status and is continually updated. Each module provides some status information, and you can drag the information boxes that are most pertinent to you from the individual modules' sections into the Overview section of the page. This allows you to choose which information you are most interested in and would like to be presented each time you open the dashboard.
Along the top of the page, there are clickable tabs, which take you into the various modules. Many of the modules have additional subsections, which can be accessed through a secondary set of tabs that will appear whenever any subsections are available. At all times, the "You are here" line displays a clickable trail of breadcrumbs so you don't get lost.
In the top-right of each page is a help button, which will take you to the appropriate section of this manual, and as always, our support department is always happy to help.
Most settings throughout the Iceni system can have comments attached to them to allow you to document the system's setup. We thoroughly recommend that you make extensive use of these comments, as it is much easier to understand things when you come to review the settings several years down the line.
